A quarterly meeting of the District Hub, a coordinated platform of civil society organizations (CSOs) working on human rights, good governance and social justice, was held in Kurigram on Saturday, September 19, at the Hub's own office adjacent to Kurigram Sadar Upazila. The meeting, held at 11:00 am, was presided over by Roshanara Begum, President of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, and moderated by M Rashid Ali, General Secretary of the Kurigram District Hub. Around 30 representatives from 15 CSOs in the district participated, including USAS District Coordinator Robiul Islam. The meeting was organized under the project 'CIVIL - Supporting the Unity and Sustainability of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to Uphold Human Rights, National Integrity and Rule of Law in Bangladesh,' implemented jointly by the European Union, ActionAid Bangladesh, the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), and BRAC University. Discussions covered the Hub's activities, establishment of human rights and good governance, social justice, coordination among civil society groups, and advocacy on various local issues. Speakers emphasized that the District Hub's main objective is to strengthen coordination and cooperation among civil society organizations working on human rights, governance and social justice, and to build effective communication with local and national CSOs, government offices, private institutions and like-minded networks to reinforce advocacy efforts.
