A quarterly meeting of the District Hub, a coordinated platform of civil society organizations (CSOs) working on human rights, good governance, and social justice, was held in Kurigram on Saturday, September 19, at 11 a.m. at the District Hub office adjacent to Kurigram Sadar Upazila. The meeting was chaired by Rowshanara Begum, President of the Kurigram District branch of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, and moderated by M Rashid Ali, General Secretary of the District Hub. About 30 representatives from 15 CSOs in the district participated, including Rabiul Islam, District Coordinator of USSS. The event was organized under the 'SUSHIL' project—supporting the unity and sustainability of CSOs to uphold human rights, national integrity, and rule of law in Bangladesh—jointly supported by the European Union, ActionAid Bangladesh, and the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ) of BRAC University.

Discussions at the meeting focused on strengthening coordination and cooperation among civil society organizations, advocacy on local issues, and various aspects of establishing human rights and good governance. Speakers emphasized that increasing coordination among CSOs working on human rights, governance, and social justice is a key objective of the District Hub. They stressed the need to build effective communication with local and national CSOs, government departments, private institutions, and like-minded networks to strengthen advocacy on public interest issues. Participants noted that coordinated initiatives by civil society organizations are essential for ensuring long-term, sustainable development and for securing equal dignity, rights, and social security for every member of society.
