Bangladesh Mahila Parishad has reported that 252 women and girls were subjected to violence across Bangladesh in August 2026, comprising 134 women and 118 girls. Of these, 55 were killed — 45 women and 10 girls — while 26 women and children died under mysterious circumstances. The findings were released in a report titled 'Information on Violence Against Women and Girls (August 2026),' signed by the organization's general secretary Maleka Banu. The report was compiled by the Parishad's Legal Aid sub-council based on incidents documented in 15 national dailies and two online news outlets.

According to the report, 54 people (36 girls and 18 women) were raped, and 13 (including 8 girls) were victims of gang rape. Two people, including one girl, were raped and then killed, while 14 people faced attempted rape. Sexual violence affected 30 people (24 girls), including 14 cases of sexual harassment, 9 of stalking, and 7 of cyber violence. Fourteen people, including three girls, died by suicide, one after being incited to do so. Three people suffered burn injuries, two of whom died. Dowry-related violence affected six people, three of whom were killed. Five domestic workers, including three girls, faced abuse, with four killed. Additionally, two girls were abducted, 28 people faced physical torture, five attempted child marriages were recorded, and six others suffered various forms of violence.
