Bangladesh Mahila Parishad's Satkhira district branch organized a worker rally at Rajar Bagan in Satkhira on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, as part of the organization's month-long 'Organizational Month' observance running from September 1 to September 30, 2026. The event was held under the slogan 'Strengthen Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Advance the Women's Movement.'

The rally was chaired by Jyotsna Dutta, General Secretary of the Satkhira district branch of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad. Other attendees included Organizational Secretary Rupa Mitra, Environment Secretary Farida Khatun, Program Executive Md. Mafizul Islam, along with leaders from district and local (para) committees.

Speakers at the gathering emphasized that Bangladesh Mahila Parishad has long worked for women's rights and continues an unbroken tradition of the movement for human liberation and women's emancipation. They noted that the organization traces its roots to the secular cultural and struggle traditions of Bengal, drawing inspiration from pioneering figures of women's awakening such as Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain, freedom fighter Pritilata Waddedar, and poet Sufia Kamal, who was a pathfinder of the women's movement in Bangladesh. The speakers described the courageous efforts of these women and men as a continuing source of inspiration and guidance for the ongoing struggle to establish women's dignity and rights.
