On 23 September 2026, the Social Resistance Committee (Samajik Protirodh Committee) held a human chain in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh, Dhaka, under the theme 'Make the government's accountability visible on killings, disappearances and violence; ensure the safety of children, women and minority communities.' The event was chaired by Advocate Salma Ali, adviser of Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association, who stressed that legal frameworks alone are insufficient and called for coordinated accountability among police, lawyers and the judiciary, swift trials, exemplary punishment, and government coordination with civil society to prevent violence before it occurs.

Bangladesh Mahila Parishad President Dr. Fauzia Moslem called for breaking the long-standing 'unholy alliance' between power and crime behind killings and violence against women, children and the Hindu community. She urged the government to be more active on drug control, prevention of violence against women and children, and ensuring speedy trials, and appealed to media to avoid victim-blaming coverage. Other speakers, including Shahnaz Sumi of Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha, Shamsun Nahar Koli of Gonoshahajjo Provdent Campaign (Ganosakkharata Ovijan), Nurul Amin of ADAB, and Sanjida Sultana of Karmojibi Nari, criticized the lack of state action and infighting among law enforcement agencies, demanding immediate action against every incident of violence. Jona Goswami of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad cited police data showing 15,717 child disappearances reported in the first seven months of 2026, with 13,679 recovered and 2,038 still missing.
